Many people have already migrated
or are currently trying to come to America in search of economic freedom and
the chance to actually achieve success, for themselves and for their loved ones.
Many of the immigrants that came in the past use to take full advantage of the
fact that they actually reached America, alive I might add, and they built new
lives for themselves and their families. Something has changed however, and
many immigrants, nowadays, take for granted the pleasures that are available in
the US. In the story on page 540, Mr. Gilbert Keith-Worthing, a British
novelist, who left his home in England for America after all of Europe put into
practice the ideas which he had preached, (which basically means that his ideas
had sent Europe spiraling into chaos and failure), begins to preach to Kip Chalmers
that America is indeed very naive and is in need to follow the same destructive
path that Europe took. The reason behind his statement are as follows: he
believes that the amount of regulations that are present in the business life
in America are not enough and should follow the same amount as the economies in
Europe had. Now, because of the end result with Europe, it is obvious that
regulations in the world of business are bad since they forced Gilbert to move
out of his home nation, probably because it got to the point where the
government had regulations on the style in which you lived in. Now an important question is why does Gilbert
still think that the only corner left on the globe is in need of walking down
the same wretched path that Europe took? The answer is not easily found and
therefore we cannot make a logical assumption as to why only that this man must
be sorely misled but, then that leads to the question: who misinformed this
man? That's a whole other story though that I will not go into because of its
great length. Back to immigrants like Gilbert however, we can see that these
people are abundant in the present and are constantly complaining about their
made up story that the rich are making too much and are constricting the poor
from ever making a buck when, in fact, it is the rich that are bolstering the
poor up by giving them work and jobs to make good salaries. On top of that,
these immigrants believe that they were actually better off in the nation where
they originally came from. To finish off, I have just one thing to say to these
people: leave if you are so miserable in the US and see how
"wondrous" that country of yours truly is with all its regulations
but do not come back to the US and say that it is our duty to take you in as
one of our own, because you gave up on us. Therefore, it is only natural that
we give up on you.
