Eddie Willers

             At the start of the novel, Eddie Willers does what he is told to do by anyone and does not go against anyone's word. Once he is promoted to Vice-President after Dagny leaves to start the John Galt Line, everything changes. At first, he does not understand why he should be answering to the press and being the face of the Taggart Transcontinental. When the John Galt Line is finally finished and the opening day comes along, Eddie suddenly has a change in character. He takes charge of ribbon cutting and tells the press they are going to do it his way or nothing else. Eddie only confides his problems and feelings to one person who he barely knows. He opens up to this worker at the train station and tells him almost everything that has been going on with the company.  Even though he believes he is staying true to the business he is revealing information that could be used against them in the long run.
