Everyone's Mystery Disappearance and Government Corruption

Something is happening that is making the large corporation owners disappear and leave their company, and the funny thing is that this is always without any prior notice or obvious reason. So the question is, is someone behind all this? Or are all the leaders of corporate America gathering in a secret scheme and plotting to do something extravagant later on. Whatever it is, Hank Rearden and the Taggarts are a good next target because they are the biggest leaders out there. This also makes me wonder if De Anconia has anything to do with this. He is a clever man but knows how to screw people over, so maybe he is doing something to make the leaders like Wyatt want to shut down and flee town with no leads as to why or where they're headed.
As I get more and more into the book, I also see the realism Rand put into it because instead of having the government be the benefactor of social welfare as it tries to portray itself to be, it is corrupt and only looking out for its own neck. It puts a ceiling for the big companies to let the smaller ones compete because it knows that a corporation too large and too powerful can unbalance the government and even have more political pull on the people than the gov. itself.  This is Rand's way of showing how corrupt and manipulating the gov. is and how it always controls the economy, even when it claims it to be "free". They restrict the big companies like Rearden Metal and then give them a chance to bribe the gov. for some liberties, like when the boy they sent over from Washington told Hank that he's "got friends in Washington...things can be arranged...there would be a few expenses."
