Jim Taggart's Fake Identity
I have slowly started to have a strong dislike for James Taggart. From the beginning of the book he has been taking credit for all of Dagnys work and he keeps relying on her to save the company time and time again. In the book, Dagny and Hank talk about the "looters" that takes advantage of the few competent people. This is bad for Dagny because her brother is her main looter who takes advantage of her success and makes it look like he's the savior of Taggart Transcontinental. From the beginning there has been a clash in this family because Of Jim's inability to be true to himself and to the public. Whenever Jim is asked about how he wants to make his business expand, he just answers by talking about how he is more interested in the "common good" and giving a chance to the "little companies." This shows his hypocrisy because he gives himself the image of being a humanitarian when in truth he's just letting Dagny do all the dirty work and since Dagny doesn't like talking to the public Jim steps up and takes the credit from both the board and the press and labels himself the company hero, leaving Dagny to only take credit for the mistakes.
