As a student that is very passionate and interested in engineering, the story of the motor that can revolutionize the way engines are has my full attention. Currently, I am working on a clean energy project so I have the same viewpoint about the product that someone like Dagny Taggart does. The thing that I found most interesting about it was how there is the scientist that made it and then the large corporation that will take it over. This happens so often in society and it is generally overlooked. Engineers who create life changing devices do not receive any of the profits due to intellectual property rights and contracts between the employees and the companies.
Another aspect of the reading selection that interested me was all the laws (such as the Fair Share Law) that are created. These laws seem almost communistic or socialist in a sense. Everyone gets the same amount of a product. It should be an open market and the company should be able to choose who gets what of their material.
